THIS one brought me to tears. It's familiar. It brings out lost memories of mine. Katy, you are one incredible human being and I so admire you. How very odd it is to feel a kinship with someone I've not met in person who is young enough to be my daughter but yes, a kinship. Keep writing, please. Share your talent. My sister and I have had many conversations about our parents. We don;t see things the same way but agree I had the good mom and she had the good dad. There is 14 years between us, so our parents were in different places in their lives when we were born.

Your Grammie was gorgeous and sounded like Auntie Mame! I grew up hoping and praying that I wouldn't be anything like my parents, despite all of the "wisdom" they tried to impart to me.
Dad, more so than mom. But that's another story for another time.

I was never close to my grandma, but from what I've learned, it sounds like she was a bit like your Grammie. Except, my grandma was miserable all the time, it seemed.

I'm sorry you're missing your Grammie, and having such mixed emotions about it. It's tough, but you're tougher!
Hope you have an incredible holiday season, Katy. Oh, and in case I haven't said it enough, you are an inspiration. XoXoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
